MP: Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Berkley, California. Now I'm a native of Vallejo, California. I'm from the BAY, home of E40, Mac Dre, En-Vogue, Tone Toni Toni, too short to name a few!!!
MP: What influenced you to choose music production as a career?
As a kid in church, I played every instrument I could get my hands on. Growing up around music it opened my eyes to the different elements that make music. I always mimicked the drum sounds and the melodies with my mouth and hands. As I got older I learned how to create my own drums and melodies with equipment. I got my first keyboard and an MPC 2000 XL and the rest is history.
MP: How did you first fall in love with hip hop?
I used to hear it everywhere but my house. My mom wouldn't allow it in a Christian home. So being that it was a privelidge for me i enjoyed everything about it.
MP: Growing up what albums or artists influenced your art?
I liked Dr Dre, and Dj Quik. Those were my favorite 2 artists/producers that influenced my art. When i heard of Darkchild and Timbaland, i put all 4 of those together and was very influenced to create music!
MP: What kind of music do you listen too when your not listening to hip hop?
I like gospel music. I also listen to r&b, pop, rock, reggae, really whatever sounds good to me I don't discriminate.
MP: How would you describe your style/sound to the people?
I would say I'm musical. I like melodies and I concentrate on making different melodies work together. I don't wanna say I'm a West Coast producer. My sound is not limited to just one genre of music.
MP: What artists are you working with or developing?
I'm working with a hip hop artist Franchyze (www.myspace.com/bossmovement) I have a couple gospel artists, and I'm developing an r&b artist. You will hear more about them soon...
MP: Who would you like to work with music both mainstream and underground?
I would like to work with Beyonce, Britney Spears, Rihanna , T.I, to name a few.
MP: What experiences do you always take with you when your studio?
I pray first, then gather everything I need in the studio to work.
